I am a reliable, conscientious, well-mannered person that is hardworking, resilient and motivated with a good work ethic and a proven knowledge of the protocols and office practice needed to assist in the smooth running of an office environment. I have over 10 years office administration experience with strong organisational and communication skills to manage effective use of IT to support effective delivery of administrative processes. This includes good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, skilled in managing daily office operations and office equipment and I can facilitate communication between students, staff and outside agencies. I am an experienced, organised and a detail-oriented administrator with experience providing high level support. I have a proven track record of demonstrating the ability to prioritise tasks, multitask and meet deadlines and I can have a flexible schedule. I am able to work in a discreet and sensitive manner being mindful of confidentiality at all times and I adhere to strict confidentiality requirements.
Previously I worked as an administrator for 10 years in the NHS working alongside doctors, psychiatrists, consultants and patients. This was a fast paced role that was never the same. It required me to be a proactive professional with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills to complete tasks and required me to work individually and as part of a team whilst understanding the importance of knowing the policies, protocols, having accurate documents and how to use relevant software. I am reliable with a good work ethic and the ability to quickly adapt to new tasks and environments. The administration role required me to be professional and accurate at all times and I gave efficient administration support to my colleagues and the professionals I worked alongside, using my communication skills to build effective working relationships. It also required me to give exceptional patient support. I used communication skills regularly in my most recent role and when needed liaised with staff, parents/carers and other professionals making sure I was empathic and actively listened. My last role also involved a degree of administration which included keeping student information up to date, having knowledge of EHCPs and using Edukey and Bromcom.
Due to my past job roles I have awareness of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection and understand the importance of being vigilant and sensitive around these areas at all times and I have the up to date relevant training for these areas. I acknowledge all the needs of the students. I liaised with the students about what changes could be made to overcome obstacles and help them to progress and reach their goals and converse with other professionals and I believe that this will benefit the Office Administrator position too as I will still have to converse with students as well as staff.
I am a calm, patient and diplomatic professional who can deal with a crisis. I can provide solutions to complex problems and I can use my communication and counselling skills to regulate situations and help problem solving.
I will continue to promote inclusion and acceptance of all and enable young people to have resilience so they feel safe and welcomed by the school. I will fully engage with the day-to-day advice and guidance that is offered by the team and will engage in any in-house or formal training programmes that I need to improve my knowledge for the position and continue any personal development. I aim to use my current knowledge and improve my knowledge so I can successfully fill the vacancy on your team and make a valued contribution as I have a keen interest in continuing to work in an educational based environment supporting colleagues and students. I am keen to gain qualifications relevant to the administration assistant position that I have not already got, including first aid training. I would continue to be personable and would use appropriate and high quality administration, take pride in my work and I can be relied upon to help your team achieve its goals.
