- Manage referrals and initial enquiries for non-kin foster placements, this includes receiving and screening referrals, gathering key information about the children to create their profile and prioritising the cases based on urgency and risk.
- Matching and placement coordination which would include identifying suitable foster carers for children, checking availability kills and risk factors, coordinating placement logistics (timings, paperwork, emergency placements), communicating with carers and supervising social workers during matching.
- Being the first point of contact for he duty system which would include handling incoming calls/emails for professionals and carers, responding to urgent safeguarding or placement stability concerns, offering immediate advice or escalating to senior management when required, ensuring out of hours or crisis procedures are followed.
- Safeguarding and risk management which will include triaging safeguarding alerts or allegations, ensuring all incidents are logged and reported appropriately, making sure policies and statutory requirements are followed then liaise with safeguarding leads and external agencies as required.
- Team coordination and communication which will include updating internal systems and placement trackers, sharing information with relevant professionals, creating the duty rota each monthly, supporting daily handovers within the duty team and monitoring capacity, projected availability and placement pressures.
- Administrative and compliance tasks - maintaining accurate records and case notes, ensuring documentation is complete for placements both in-house and with external agencies, producing reports or duty summaries wen needed for governance.
_ I also complete Form F assessments, viability assessments for kinship placements and regular annual reviews of the carers I supervise.
- I hold my own caseload of carers whom I visit and support, ensuring they continue to meet their training compliance, keep their medicals and ACCESS NI up to date and review registration to assess if this needs to be altered at all.
- I have also been utilised to completed sexual/ physical risk assessments and CASP-R assessments where there has been possible concern noted within a kinship placement.
