Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains safety, privacy and dignity of all patients in the delivery of patient centered care recognizing and respecting differences including spiritual and cultural beliefs.

  • Accurately records and reports physiological observations (e.g. temperature, blood pressure, pulse, weight).
  • Assists in supporting patients to maintain adequate nutrition and hydration.
  • Assists in the assessment and management of pressure care.
  • Contributes to the risk assessment and prevention of falls and undertakes appropriate activities, as delegated, following a patient’s fall.
  • Monitors patients, as delegated, in accordance with the Rapid Tranquilisation Policy.
  • Carries out ECG or venepuncture as required.
  • Assists with wound management as directed by the individual intervention plan.
  • Demonstrates safe physical interventions in the management of violence and aggression as required.
