Summary

I am a motivated professional who has gained vast experience around safeguarding of young people in my Police career and also as a previous Foster Carer with my wife where we fostered over 20 young people with varying needs including a young girl with foetal alcohol spectrum disorder.

In my role within the Police and as Community Safety Programme Manager I have been passionate about making a difference within communities and engaging with hard to reach groups. One of my most recent projects was securing funding for "number forty" a safety hub within Darlington town centre to safeguard people in the night time economy. This was funded with Home Office funding for Violence Against Women and Girls and has assisted many vulnerable young adults who have been victims of crime or have been too intoxicated to make their way home safely.

I still volunteer with this project working one night a month.

I have excellent communication skills at all levels from chairing multi agency meetings to engaging with hard to reach members of the community such as the Gypsy Roma Traveller Communities where I built up a positive working relationship.

I am keen to step back from the pressure of senior management however still conduct a role where I can make a positive contribution to young peoples lives.
