As a student veterinary nurse, I assist in the day-to-day care of animals in the veterinary practice. My responsibilities include monitoring the health and wellbeing of patients, administering medications, and assisting with surgical procedures. I also help with diagnostic tests, such as blood work and imaging, and provide support to pet owners by educating them on animal care.

My role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team or independently. I am dedicated to ensuring a high standard of care and contributing to the overall success of the veterinary team.

As a veterinary care assistant, I provide essential support to the veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses. My responsibilities include feeding and exercising animal when appropriate, maintaining cleanliness in the clinic, and assisting with the handling of patients during examinations and treatment.

I help prepare surgical equipment/instruments and assist with procedures, while also providing comfort and reassurance to both client and patients.

My role requires strong communication skills, a compassionate attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, all while ensuring the highest standards of animal care.

As a Pharmacy Dispenser, I am responsible for accurately preparing and dispensing prescription medications to patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. My duties include reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, ensuring proper labelling, and providing medication information to patients.

I also assist with inventory management, maintaining records of dispensed medications, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

I went out of my way within this role to deliver medication out of my work hours to ensure patients were not without.

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, I support the Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Nurses in animal care My task include feeding and exercising animals, maintaining cleanliness, assisting during examinations and treatments, and preparing surgical instruments.

I ensure a high standard of care and support the clients as well as the patients. Strong communication and compassion are key skills in my role.

As an Animal Care Assistant, we work 12 hour night-shift's as a lone worker.

My role is to provide a high level of care to inpatients, ensuring cleanliness is maintained throughout the shift. I am also in charge of answering the emergency line which includes taking the necessary information and directing the clients as necessary.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently are crucial within this role, as I ensure that all animals are secure and comfortable throughout the night.

As a retail sales assistant, I provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their inquiries and helping them find products. My responsibilities include restocking shelves, maintaining store displays, and processing transactions at the checkout. I also ensure that the store is clean and organised, while promoting offers, and providing information about products.

During my time here I have had the opportunity to visit other stores for training purposes, complete first aid training to ensure the safety of our customers, and carry out Barista training so I am able to help in the café when required.

Strong communication skills and a friendly/approachable attitude are essential in helping customers have a positive shopping experience.

As a stable assistant on a competition yard, home for 27 horses, my role is to provide daily care for each horse which includes feeding, grooming, and exercising them. I ensure the stables are clean and well-maintained, mucking out and replenishing bedding. I also assist with tacking up horses for the riders, preparing them for competitions, and monitoring their health and wellbeing.

Strong organisation and attention to detail are vital, as is the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment to support the needs of both the horses and the team.

As a trampoline marshal, my role involved ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants. I monitor the trampoline area enforcing safety rules and guidelines to prevent accidents. I help maintain a clean and organised environment, addressing any issues or concerns that arise during sessions.

Strong communication skills and a keen awareness of safety protocols are essential for creating a fun and secure atmosphere for everyone.

As a volunteer stable hand, I helped muck out all of the stables and feed each horse correctly. I ensured the health and wellbeing of each horse was at the top of my priorities and worked well as a team to ensure the day runs smoothly.

As a volunteer animal assistant within the animal charity, I was able to care for a variety of animals to increase my knowledge and abilities within an industry I knew I wanted to be involved in. I was able to feed and muck out each animal as needed and exercise the horses and donkeys as scheduled.

I was given the opportunity to stay longer than the set 2 weeks which gave me the chance to build my confidence, learn how to work well within a team and independently, and gain my animal care skills.
