I am required to be organised and have good time management to arrange clinics and ensure women receiving their care a referred to appropriate pathways. My role also allowed me to create relationships with women and their partners in order to support them in decision making.
I believe I am flexible; I am able to fulfil roles, different to my own if needed. I enjoy working with others, including those looking to learn.
I am a dependable individual with practical experience. I am diligent and detailed to uphold reliable clinical services, as well as committed to collaborative teamwork for improved patient support.
I am keen to learn and develop my skills and competencies, whilst supporting people’s journey to starting a family.
I have been supporting women at various point in their pregnancy journey for the last three and a half years. I spent the six months of my career working within the hospital setting, providing labour care on labour ward and the birth centre, as well as caring for women in the Day Assessment Unit and Triage. This exposed me to a variety of emergencies and care scenarios. I joined the homebirth team, where I worked directly with the multi-disciplinary team to support a combination of high risk and low risk women at home. I have particularly enjoyed preparing them for birth, as well as caring for them in their home environments and supporting new families in the postnatal period.
The role required an ability to maintain detailed medical records for accurate tracking of patient history and deal professionally and emphatically with emotionally charged situations with care.
I have enjoyed providing and arranging suitable care pathways and working with MDT to provide safe, supportive plans for women in the antenatal and postnatal periods. I also enjoy discussing and preparing women for labour and explore opportunities available, suitable and relevant to their care needs.
