I am committed to enhancing patient care through continuous service improvement and education initiatives. I aim to further contribute to the healthcare sector and the care of hepatology patients by driving innovative solutions for better patient outcomes. Continue to develop a strong and resilient hepatology team. Completing the ACP Masters will consolidate my knowledge and skills and ensure i have credibility and recognised qualification for the future.
I am a clinical expert in my specialist field and fulfil the 4 domains of the Nurse Consultant:

I practice at an advanced clinical level and exercise high levels of judgement, discretion and decision making in clinical care.
I provide clinical leadership, expert practice, and advanced knowledge, integrating research/audit evidence into practice and contribute to research. I spend a significant amount of time in direct autonomous clinical practice, having clinical responsibility for a defined cohort of patients and providing leadership to a junior team.
I monitor and improve standards of care through, supervision of practice and clinical audit
I teach and support professional colleagues and provide skilled professional leadership-promoting clinical excellence.
I contribute to safeguarding and clinical effectiveness within the service by participating in audit and research as part of the MDT.
I practice across the health economy as required by the client group.
I maintain and further develop a local and national profile by being a creative and innovative leader in further developing services for the patient group.
I communicate highly sensitive and confidential information in a variety of settings and this will require significant emotional and mental effort to impart unwelcome and /or distressing news to staff and patients.
Recent success include-development of a whole nurse led hepatology service, increasing team from 1 to 5, achieving recognition through IQILS accreditation, winning Trust values award for Values and innovation.
Started and developed a "generic" research team at the Trust to complement the already successful cancer research team. Developed the team from taking part in 4 studies in 2 specialities to over 40 studies in many specialities.
Staff in different areas including gastroenterology, endocrinology and cardiology on general medical wards and within an endoscopy unit.
