  • Event Operations & Safety – Knock Out Team-Building Events:

Gained hands-on experience setting up and operating large-scale team-building activities. Responsibilities included preparing and assembling equipment such as large inflatables, electrical setups, and specialist items for each game. Ensured all equipment was correctly installed and fully compliant with risk assessments and safety procedures. Completed thorough pre-event walk-around checks to identify hazards and ensure safe, smooth event delivery. Developed strong organisational skills by managing setup times, coordinating equipment, and supporting efficient activity running throughout the day.

  • Grounds maintenance:
  • During school holidays and weekends I work as ground maintenance ensuring that outdoor spaces and landscaped environments, are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and visual appeal. I operate and maintain grounds maintenance machinery and tools safely and effectively carrying out minor repairs and report any damage or hazards. Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures and environmental standards. Performed routine equipment maintenance to prevent breakdowns.

Enhanced golf course aesthetics by delivering ground maintenance.

  • Hospitality: Prior to this I worked as a kitchen assistant at a local restaurant. This is the second job I have secured whilst being at school. Previously I was employed as a pot washer and a waiter/ barista in a café, I then moved to a larger restaurant and progressed to working as a kitchen assistant. This work developed my communication skills in a pressurised environment, listening to instructions from members of staff and communicating with customers who on occasions were challenging.

I have a keen interest in biking and sports. I enjoy mountain and trail biking and being outdoors in all weathers. Over the last couple of years, I have developed a passion for fishing, which has required me to be patient, calm and focused. I also enjoy going to the gym with my friends., I have spent weekends with my grandparent helping him repair a Morris Minor car where I needed to be extremely accurate and pay close attention to detail. As part of this I was interested to learn how the parts were assembled and how to electrical systems work. This further developed my interest in engineering and the electrics.
