* founding member and director of Earlham Community Shop. Working in partnership with Norfolk Community Foundation, the Nourishing Norfolk Network and local organisations, set up a CIC to enable us to establish a social supermarket on the school site for the benefit of families, other local schools and wider community. Current reach over 1,500 households, provide support to over 650 members of the community.

* Norwich Castle Museum education team, with whom we have an established 5 year relationship, which has allowed the pupils to have access to regular free visits to the Norwich Castle and Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse. Focus of this partnership has been to increase access to cultural opportunities for disadvantaged families. Over 90% of the school cohort live with a area of deprivation.

We were also the joint partner, alongside the Museum Education Team, in a successful application to run a fully funded 2 year pilot for parents and children to attend an eight week parenting programme at the Castle Museum, funded by Nesta and Arts Council. Over 60 families have accessed this programme.

* a developing relationship with the National Farmers Union, which has given pupils access to visits by a NFU School Ambassador. In addition the community shop has benefitted from newly established links with local farmers through donations of fresh produce and financial donations.

* being a founding member of the East of England Maintained Nursery School Group, a collaboration of 8 schools across the east of England, which supports staff development and staff and Headteacher wellbeing.

  • oversight of quality of education and care across 50 infant and primary schools, 4 special schools and over 400 private, independent and voluntary early years providers, including childminders.
  • development of a bespoke and flexible training programme for the sector, including briefings for headteachers and senior leaders, curriculum training and staff development and wellbeing. Managed and led a series of conferences, working with national and international consultants.
  • leading the LA's EYFS Moderation Team of 14 moderators, had responsibility for quality assuring all data submissions to the Standards and Testing Agency (STA) and planning a programme of moderation visits across the LA. Worked as a consultant for the STA to carryout monitoring visits to LA's across England, to ensure statutory requirements were in place. Had responsibility for providing verbal and written feedback to LA's and STA.
  • secured funding to establish 5 research projects which culminated in the development of published materials which were shared across the LA and nationally.
  • responsibility for LA KPI's and national data sets, reporting directly to the Department for Education and Lead Members
  • working in collaboration with the Open University to develop and lead a degree level course for early years managers.
  • working in collaboration with the Basic Skills Agency to develop Basic Skills Audits specifically for Early Years and Extended Services, led LA based pilot and supported roll out across England and internationally. Led training in Bahrain on behalf for the Basic Skills Agency.
