  • Escalate to Unit Manager any identified issues requiring further management input
  • Assist Line Manager with incident and complaint management in appropriate and timely manner when required
  • Actively participate in departmental audits (RPS, Contingency Plan etc.) and log appropriately
  • Liaise with Physicists to ensure all appropriate calibrations are completed when needed (Dose Calibrator etc.)
  • Assist with problem solving and know when to source advice from Line Manager, able to cope with multiple demands during working day
  • Conduct monthly team meetings in absence of line manager to keep all staff informed of any changes with protocols, daily routines etc.
  • Prepare, implement, and update all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Conduct organised training scheme with new members of staff
  • Liaise with consultants when needed to assess appropriate date for patient to be booked. Consult throughout work day to confirm if patient is to scanned due to treatment date, antibiotics etc.
  • Assist booking team with any queries before booking appointments
  • Greet patient on arrival, complete data form and explain procedure, pause and check and ensure correct radiopharmaceutical is injected for each procedure. Scan patient after appropriate uptake time and input data onto RIS system in timely manner.
  • Identify areas that are in need of clinical improvement with help of staff and implement changes to processes.
  • In absence of line Manager ensure scanning shift is covered with correct staffing level and skill set, all FDG doses are ordered on time and address any queries that might arise daily
