Following achieving 10 GCSE's (grades 9 - 6) this summer, I have recently become a Sixth Form student at LRGS where I will be studying German, History and Politics 'A' Levels, with the aim of studying History at degree level.

During my time at the school, I have demonstrated responsibility and commitment by maintaining good academic standing while balancing extracurricular activities such as rugby, cricket, CCF Army section, completing the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award and volunteering at my local cricket club.

These experiences have also allowed me to:

  • Enhance my communication skills with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with classmates on group projects to achieve shared academic goals.

I have worked part-time over the summer holidays as a labourer for a plastering company which was hard work but I also enjoyed it immensely. I have learned some new skills through my duties which included:

  • Utilising hand tools and machinery effectively ensuring accuracy and precision in all jobs performed.

Affiliations

  • Sport: I represent my school at rugby every week and am very much looking forward to an upcoming tour to South Africa next year. I have also represented my school at cricket, played for three teams this year at Torrisholme Cricket Club and have been selected to play at District and County level over the lest few years. I enjoy attending live sports events with some recent highlights being England Vs India Test Series at Emirates Old Trafford and watching New Zealand vs South Africa at Twickenham. I have recently started to play golf and would welcome any advice!
  • Music: My real passion is music, particularly attending live music events such as seeing Sam Fender play in Belfast this summer. I have a very wide and varied taste, along with an expanding vinyl collection.
  • Travel: I am very interested in experiencing other ways of life around the world and have been very fortunate to visit some amazing places already - my favourite so far being a school trip to the sites of Ancient Greece. Next on my list are Canada, Croatia and Italy although my aim is to one day have visited every country in the world!
