Teacher of Physical Education
Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy
Wolverhampton
09.2021 - 04.2026
Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy was my placement school and the first school I have worked in after passing my PGCE. Since joining the academy, I have fulfilled many roles, for example;
Leading a year 11 BTEC course to ensure students achieved their optimal grade. This cohort consisted of 55 students which I led a team of teachers to support the students. This cohort has been successful. The course is a level 1/2 BTEC Sport qualification. As a third year teacher this was a massive achievement.
Fulfilling my role in the department as an SEND lead, attending CPD sessions to bring back new strategies for my department to support SEND students within Physical Education.
Planning and delivering excellent lessons that encourage students to challenge themselves and have a sense of independence and confidence.
Attending CPD sessions to enhance my own practise.
Putting on extra-curricular activities such as football, basketball, badminton, table tennis, cricket, gaelic football and more to provide students with an opportunity to participate with a wide range of sports.
Safeguarding all students by ensuring school policies are put into place.
Planning trips for students to provide them with opportunities to experience various cultures, for example, in October 2024, I have planned a trip to Valencia (Spain) for 45 students to play football and experience a different culture.
Teaching lessons in Pearsons BTEC Sport and in core Physical Education Lessons.
