Work history

Port Assistant

Caledonian MacBrayne
Mallaig, Highland
2024.04 - Current

I have been a permanent port assistant in the Mallaig office for 2 years; this is my 3rd season. My day to day duties include selling tickets, counting cash floats, answering phones/emails, assisting customers with any problems/queries ensuring they receive the best customer experience. I also occasionally have to carry out ticketing duties onboard our local vessel. I have recently covered a lot of higher grade duties which included training new seasonal staff on disruption/ how to use the systems to ensure they were comfortable especially before attending the COE.

Received great feedback from colleagues regarding the delivery of new start training and approachability.
