I am applying for the Support Worker role because I am genuinely motivated to work in a healthcare environment where I can support individuals in living with dignity, respect, and independence. My interest in healthcare began when I cared for my grandfather between 1998 and 2000. During this time, I supported him with personal care, mobility assistance, medication management, and daily living activities. This experience gave me a meaningful understanding of the importance of compassion, patience, and maintaining dignity while supporting someone with their daily needs. It also inspired my long-term interest in working in a role where I can positively contribute to the wellbeing of others.

My previous work experience across warehouse and customer-focused roles has helped me develop strong organisational skills, reliability, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Working in busy environments has strengthened my time management, attention to detail, and ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism. These transferable skills are important in care settings where consistency, responsibility, and teamwork are essential to ensure individuals receive safe and effective support.

I have also completed Level 4 Sterile Services Technician training and achieved a Distinction. This training strengthened my understanding of infection control, hygiene standards, and the importance of maintaining safe environments to protect the wellbeing of individuals receiving care. I understand the importance of safeguarding and the responsibility to recognise and report concerns appropriately to protect the safety and wellbeing of individuals. I believe in providing person-centred support that respects each individual’s needs, preferences, and goals while promoting dignity, independence, and overall well-being.
