• Leadership and Management-Managing a team of IPC nurses and administrative team in providing clinical and professional leadership and ensuring the service meets the needs of the organisation
• Policy Development-assist in development of IPC policies and ensure they are aligned with national standards and guidelines
• Crisis Management- leading and managing outbreaks ensuring to minimise further spread. Managed resource and staff support during high-pressure situations
• Data Monitoring & Reporting- analyse infection data, prepare detailed reports and present findings to key stakeholders. Implement the data findings to reduce infection rates and improve compliance
• Education and Training- advise, develop and deliver ongoing infection control training programme to staff ensuring adherence to safety protocols
• Collaboration- working closely with soft and hard FM services and external agencies with SLAs to ensure a coordinated approach to infection, prevention and control across all areas.
• Budgeting- having an understanding of the allocated budget for the infection control department and on advising cost effective practices

• Played a vital role in infection control surveillance, developing and monitoring infection prevention measures across the Trust
• Coordinated the investigation of health-care associated infections and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to initiate actions
• Provided consultation and advice to healthcare professionals on infection control practices to reduce risk of cross contamination
• Led infection control audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with national guidelines
• Delivered infection control education programmes to all disciplines within the organisation

• Undertaking Audit and Surveillance, assisting the microbiologists with various investigations for research purposes, assist with a research project on patient experiences of being MRSA screening in collaboration with Kings College London

• Managing rosters, managing an 8 bedded High Dependency Unit and ensuring the correct skill mix, undertaking annual appraisals, undertaking audits and writing reports, seconded to work closely with the infection control team undertake the Saving Lives Delivery Programme and educate staff on wards on the findings of the audits

Rotational placement whilst undertaking my nursing degree gaining experience in nursing in acute settings covering A&E, Intensive Care and Medical Admissions Unit.

After completing my nursing degree I undertook my elective placements in Canada Intensive Care Unit and Singapore General medical ward where I had an opportunity to teach first aid at a primary school.
