Across my three placements at Lacey's Solicitors, I was exposed to the weekly workings of solicitors, and undertook practical tasks in relation to a multitude of practice areas, including legal document drafting in Family Law, mock business management under Commercial Law, and deciding the legality of potential property claims under Property Law
I tutored GCSE English Language to a Year 11 student from June 2025 to their exams in May 2026; while she started the course a year later than other pupils, she was able to successfully catch up, and has been comfortably working at a grade 7 level within her essays.
As of currently, I tutor a Year 7 in both Maths and English at KS3 level, creating an educational framework through both weekly face to face learning, as well as additional resources outside tutoring hours for continued self-study.
Within this day's experience, I witnessed and enhanced my own skill of rapid argument construction under the pressure of the court environment, an ability that is core to the monumental stakes of the profession.
Additionally, I now understand the internal proceedings of court systems, such as courtroom etiquette, client consultation and research of the case itself; helping me to understand how days are structured.
