Net Zero Strategy & Decarbonisation Delivery

• Support delivery of Phoenix Energy’s Net Zero 2050 energy transition strategy, developing projects that drive carbon emissions reduction across residential, commercial and industrial sectors.
• Lead renewable energy workstreams including biomethane, green hydrogen, hybrid heat pumps and energy efficiency interventions.
• Develop evidence-based decarbonisation strategies to evaluate and implement low-carbon technologies.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, contractors and energy specialists to deliver sustainability and renewable energy objectives.
• Collaborate with external partners on large-scale demonstration and trial projects, contributing insights from site visits, system performance monitoring and post-occupancy evaluations.
• Prepare and deliver technical analyses, compliance documentation and structured briefings to internal teams, government bodies and external stakeholders, supporting strategic decision-making.
• Engage with industrial, commercial and public sector organisations to promote low-carbon technologies and decarbonisation pathways.

Large-Scale Hybrid Heating Trial (~170 homes)

• Supporting delivery of a flagship heat decarbonisation trial across Northern Ireland.
• Contributed to tender development, stakeholder engagement (DfE, DNOs) and trial implementation.
• Generating evidence on carbon reduction, system performance and energy system impacts.

NI Housing Executive Pilot (30 homes)

• Supporting hybrid heating installations with £30k funding contribution.
• Monitoring 10 homes over 2 years to assess carbon savings and performance.

Biomethane Market Study

• Engaging large energy users to assess demand and pricing for biomethane.
• Informing renewable gas strategy and government policy development.

• Support lead assessor in delivering BREEAM New Construction assessments (DS & PCR).
• Undertake technical evidence review, credit compliance checks and submission preparation.
• Coordinate with design teams and contractors to ensure timely, audit-ready documentation.
• Contribute to end-to-end assessment delivery, from design stage through to certification.
• Contributed to 6 Post-Construction (PCR) submissions in last 6 months.

BREEAM Assessments & Sustainable Design Leadership

• Delivered BREEAM assessments across multiple commercial projects, including both New Construction and Refurbishment & Fit-Out schemes.
• Completed full submissions for both Design Stage and Post-Construction Stage, managing process from pre-assessment through to final submission.
• Liaised with clients, contractors, architects, and MEP engineers to address BREEAM requirements, collating and logging evidence throughout project lifecycles.
• Successfully organised and facilitated Design Team meetings and BREEAM workshops, aligning all stakeholders to achieve targeted outcomes.
• Delivered 4 complete projects: two RFO office space projects in London and two new construction warehouse projects.
  The new construction project achieved the targeted Very Good rating without requiring BRE QA.
  Managed submission of a Post-Construction Assessment for an RFO office space in London, which secured an Excellent rating at Design Stage and targeted an Outstanding rating at Post-Construction Stage.

Energy Modelling & Building Performance Analysis

• Actively supported the Energy Modelling Team in delivering building performance analysis across multiple projects.
• Developed dynamic energy models using DesignBuilder for commercial and industrial developments.
• Produced TM54 operational energy reports, assessing real-world building energy performance and identifying opportunities for carbon reduction.
• Delivered TM59 overheating assessments, evaluating thermal comfort and overheating risk in line with UK regulatory requirements.
• Generated BRUKL compliance reports to demonstrate compliance with Part L Building Regulations.
• Analysed building performance data to support low-carbon design strategies and Net Zero outcomes.
