I am an international Medical graduate.I have passed my PLAB 2 exam and registered with the GMC.I am currently in the UK, completed a 4-week clinical attachment at a GP surgery in Rotherham and now due to start my next clinical attachment in a week's time in Vascular Surgery department at Northern General Hospital, Sheffield
Based on the job description and requirements, i want to apply for this post because i believe that i possess all the essential skills necessary for this post you have available.
I am experienced with background in providing best possible care to the patients. I have a vast experience and skills related to General Surgery. Here is a summary of the skills i posses;
1. Assisting in surgeries: involved in various surgical procedures, providing support to the surgical team, and assisting the consultant or registrar.
2. Ward rounds: Participating in daily ward rounds to assess and review patients' conditions, discussing treatment plans, and monitoring progress.
3. Patient care: Always keen to provide comprehensive care to patients, including pre-operative and post-operative management, wound care, and pain management.
4. Effectively doing the ward handovers, sharing important patient details, such as diagnoses, treatment plans, medication administration, and any changes in the patient's condition to ensure that my fellow colleagues stay updated and can provide appropriate care to patients.
5. Documentation and record-keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, admissions, patient brief histories, including writing progress notes, surgical summaries, and discharge summaries.

Key Responsibilities
Attending ward rounds and ensuring all that is required regarding bloods, investigations are carried out throughout the day.
Making drug chart, vital monitoring, requesting Imaging scans and tracing reports, document everything in patient’s record, providing pre and post op care
Interpretation of all the basic investigations such as; ECG, All basic blood reports , X-rays
Working flexible hours across night, weekend and holiday shifts.
Demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills while managing multiple tasks.
Effective handover skills including exchanging information about patient’s identification, current condition, treatment and medications, procedures and tests, care plans, pending tasks etc.
Prescribing and administering treatment

Key Responsibilities
Attending ward rounds and ensuring all that is required regarding bloods, investigations are carried out throughout the day.
Assisting in both Ophthalmology outpatient and inpatient assessment and management.
Assisting consultants in major ophthalmological surgeries such as; Cataract, Glaucoma , LASIK and retinal surgery.
Comprehensive eye examination.
Detecting and removing foreign body in the eye
Performing fundoscopy and identifying basic ophthalmological pathologies
Key Responsibilities and skills;
Assessing, diagnosing and treating children from birth to age 14. Identifting injuries and illnesses in the newborns and connect patients with appropriate treatments or specialists for second opinions.
Emergency work: attendance at deliveries where resuscitation of newborn is expected or required, attending to sick infants on NICU and postnatal wards.
Routine work: Performing newborn physical examinations on postnatal wards, reviewing patients requiring additional input over and above that of normal chidren
