Summary

I Served as a Police officer, in Northumbria Police, from 1994 to 2021 where I achieved the rank of Sergeant. I was qualified to the rank of Inspector after passing rigourous exams and assessments and performed this role for extended periods throughout my service. I performed roles in response, roads policing, driver training and neighbourhood policing. I was an accredited Roads Policing Senior investigating officer with responsibility for leading and directing investigations in to fatal and serious injury road traffic collisions.

As a neighbourhood officer I was responsible for community engagement and increasing trust and confidence in Northumbria Police. My role was also to ensure that communties were safe places to live and work.

Following my retirement I rejoined Northumbria Police, in 2022, as a Police Staff Invesigator within Professional Standards, where I was responsible for investigating complaints, alleged misconduct and incidents where death or serious injury had occured, to members of the public, as a result of contact with the Police. I used available evidence and intelligence to build cases and present them to misconduct hearings whilst remamining impartial at all times.

I have extensive investigation experience and always demonstrate high levels of discipline, integrity and motivation. I am an accomplished problem solver which is evidenced by my proactive approach and positve results from investigations and subsequent solutions to identified issues. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills was integral within these roles

I have always embraced and enjoyed working as part of a team and individually whilst displaying personal responsibility and the ability to cope with difficult situations by displaying empathy and excellent communication skills.

I am flexible and experienced in dealing with changes in the workplace.

I harness Diversity and Inclusion in my interactions with colleagues and the public.

I keep myself fit and active through running ,hiking and generally keeping active..
