I am a dedicated and hard working 18 year old who is currently studying A level Biology, Chemistry and Psychology with a strong interest in pursuing a career in the health sector. Studying science A levels has given me a strong and solid understanding about particular areas of health such as human biology and psychological aspects of patient care, which I am looking to apply in a practical setting.
I have taken part in the Medical society which is a programme held by my college, where they taught me about hospital care and I have also received a first hand experience of first aid training and have also certified in the British Sign Language course. Working with medical society has helped me to learn about how to communicate with a team and also learn about giving patient centred care.
I have also volunteered with the NHS outpatient department, where I had to guide patients to their appointments. This role has taught me how to clearly communicate, and also how to deal with patients who were anxious and unfamiliar with the hospital environment. It also gave me a strong understanding of teamwork and organisation.
Additionally I have also volunteered at organised events where I contributed to team efforts and engaged with the members of the public.
Outside of my academic and healthcare related activities, I am an actively involved individual in community pursuits. I have a strong interest in art which helped me develop my attention to detail. I also play piano at my local church in a band which has strengthened my discipline, commitment and the ability to perform with confidence.
