Andrew Mark Rollins

I have worked for Calderdale MBC since 1993. during this time i have had a variety of roles, from Town Hall security to facilities Support officer. My last role, mentioned at the heading, involved building up relationships with all businesses big or small in various locations in Calderdale. working with a small team we held outreach events, responded to queries or cold called at businesses, offering a link to all council services and through collaboration with outside bodies such as West Yorkshire Combined authority and BIPC. Working with over a hundred businesses in Halifax town centre and surrounding areas i developed a good knowledge of the needs and problems of most businesses, during this time i worked alongside the police, charities and outside bodies such as basement project, Happy days and Halifax BID ( Discover Halifax) to promote a cleaner safer town centre.

During my 33 years in the council i have met with staff from all departments, notably major projects, business and economy and corporate asset and facility management. i have a good 'working' relationship with all from councillors, chief executive, directors to cleaners.

The last 6 months of this role involved a secondment to Culturedale, Calderdales year of culture, where i held the role of Community Engagement Officer, this involved some overlap but also more work with the public, communities and disability groups.
