I am 40-year-old Mechanical Engineer. The most important thing about me is that I become a dad in December 2024. I have been a contractor for 8 years. With a change of circumstances, I am looking for a permanent role that I can progress in and provide stability for my family. My engineering experience comes from a 5-year background within the British Army, followed by a further 12 years within the civilian industry. I have worked within rail, overseas and offshore.   • Position involved working within Film & TV. Mainly working alongside the Key Grip, coordinating with the camera and lighting set up. Being responsible for setting up equipment for production filming and camera work. Safely securing the cameras and camera operators and transporting and unloading camera support equipment to sets whilst lifting and moving heavy equipment. The majority of this work was in harsh conditions in the desert.

Vehicle Mechanic Class 2

Other duties included being accountable for implementing and adhering to extremely strict health and safety laws pertaining to the UK Government.
  • Supporting other units within the brigade. I am fully trained to work on wheeled vehicles up to heavy tracked vehicles.

Interests

In my spare time I am spending quality time with my young family. I have committed in going back to a CrossFit gym and Muay Thai I have lost 15kg over the 6 months., Some of my hobbies include Mountain Biking, Golf, Shooting and enjoying the outdoors. This has had to have a backseat at present with the changes and demands of having a young family. We have recently done some hikes up Pen y Fan, four waterfalls with the baby in a carrier and hope to do some more as the weather improves next year.
