In school, I was an army cadet for three years which helped and encouraged me to gain disciplinary skills, as well as team building. I enjoyed this a lot as it made me feel like i was a part of a unit and allowed me to develop new skills and grow as an individual. I enjoy caring for people as it makes me feel happy and helpful, I have a lot of experience caring in the community as well as caring for children with additional needs. I volunteer on Wednesdays at Kingdom youth club in Kilkeel with their special needs groups. I also have an autistic brother who i help care for at home with my mum and also my younger sister has ADHD. Caring for them has allowed me to gain skills in caring for children with special needs. In my spare time I enjoy learning new languages, at the moment I’m learning Spanish and Irish; being multilingual will allow me to connect and communicate with a wide range of clients.
