I am a newly retired in August 2025 registered nurse with thirty nine years experience gained during my nurse training and nursing career. I worked and completed my training at Kingston Hospital and then moved to St Richards Hospital in Chichester and then Worthing Hospital. Following this I worked in the community in Worthing and then in Woking and my last position was at The Lower Limb Clinic at Surbiton Health Centre where I was a staff nurse and clinic sister. During this time I completed mandatory training and other courses that were relevant for my role at that time.
I have only worked in retail when I was at school at the Co-op and at Radio Rentals but I have a lot of transferable skills from my nursing career. I am used to working shifts and have good communication, assessment and observational skills . I am able to work in a team and am a team player. I am able to adapt and react to situations quickly as this was essential when working in the community. I have experience of dealing with difficult situations and people who could be angry or scared depending on their situation. I can plan my own workload and am also able to work independently.
I was responsible for ordering and organising the clinic supply of dressings and bandages in my last position so have a small experience in stock control. I have reasonable IT skills as we had electronic care records that had to be completed accurately and in a timely manner.
I am applying for this position as I enjoy helping and interacting with people.
