Has led the project from inception to delivery, securing (and ensuring continued compliance with) consents under multiple regulatory regimes, including the Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2017, and the CAP1616 Airspace Change Process.
Undertook options appraisals / gateway reviews at key stages to ensure the project scope remained appropriate, given the concurrent political, environmental, economic, commercial, and legal climate.
Developed lasting, collaborative working relationships with statutory bodies and key stakeholders, such as Planning, NatureScot, RSPB, and SEPA.

Undertook the initial feasibility work to determine the most appropriate routes for the Hebridean Way long-distance walking and cycling routes.
Led the procurement and construction of the long-distance walking route infrastructure, and the demarcation of the NCN 780 route.
Worked with private and community landowners across the island chain to obtain consents to construct sections of the HebWay.
Passed three audits of the HebWay project, up to EU Commissioner level.
Managed the 'Crofting & Land Resources Development' and 'Tourism in the Community' capital budgets.

2009 - 2011: Directly selected by the Department for Work and Pensions to be the 'Financial Inclusion Champion' for the North of Scotland, a new UK initiative at the time. Supported councils and third sector organisations across the Highlands and Islands area to ensure their income maximisation activities were in line with best practice and legislation. Responsible for reporting progress to the DWP, and the UK Treasury.
2006 - 2009: Western Isles Financial Inclusion Team Coordinator. Worked with organisations to increase the financial wellbeing of individuals across the islands.
Credit Union Project Manager

Secured the necessary regulatory permissions from the Financial Services Authority to establish the Western Isles (now HI-Scot) Credit Union.
Ensured that the early volunteers were vetted and sufficiently trained to become FSA approved Board of Credit Union Directors.
Led the initial brand development, led the recruitment of staff and established the requisite policies and procedures ahead of the credit union becoming operational.
Procured and worked with local contractors to refurbish and fit out the Credit Union's premises in Stornoway.
