Highly motivated Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy undergraduate excited to take the next career step. Quick to build a great rapport with patients and colleagues to achieve optimal patient care. Excellent communicator particularly with dentally anxious patients.
I am a second and third year rep for my cohort who was nominated by my tutor. This role involves meeting with the university staff, clinical tutors and dean to communicate and voice any student concerns or praises.
Many times tutors have referred nervous and dentally anxious patients to myself to treat as I have a very compassionate approach with my patient care. During my A-Levels I attended a mindfulness course which taught me different techniques to control anxiety, one technique being "finger breathing". This is a technique which I have taught a handful of patients to help control their breathing whilst feeling panicked in the clinical environment.
