With my experience at The Ivy Collection, I would say there were many responsibilities to handle, which provided excellent experience in working in hospitality. This included taking customer orders and preparing drinks, following best practices for each type. I handled cash transactions and operated point-of-sale systems with accuracy and integrity.

Assisted with stock counting, ordering, and replenishing, ensuring we had the right produce for service. Trained new staff on bar operations, cocktail preparation, and customer service standards.

This experience gave me a great understanding of food safety. I kept operations running smoothly and efficiently by keeping workspaces organised, clean, and ready for service.

Coordinated with front-of-house staff to ensure timely delivery of dishes, enhancing overall guest dining experience. My favourite part of this job was that everything was made from scratch, including sauces, dough, and even toppings. Plated food according to restaurant artistic guidelines for an attractive presentation.

I helped customers with specific item requests by answering questions and offering knowledgeable advice about the different spices in our sauces; these would be mild, medium, and hot, as well as the different price ranges for the various proteins we offered, which included meat-free proteins. Offered friendly greetings and farewells, creating a welcoming environment for all guests. When closing up, I would pop on my apron and help with the dishes to assist my team members. When a guest would build their burrito, I would calculate how much each produce item cost, so I could add up the tally of what they had.
