I am a dedicated Early Years Educator with a First Class degree. Since the completion of my degree, I have had three children and looked after my niece part-time. During this period, I enjoyed implementing my expertise by creating engaging sensory experiences and promoting outdoor learning, informed by techniques from forest school leaders observed on placements. During my time as a supply teacher, I have actively applied my early years knowledge in all settings, supporting child development. Having recently taken maternity leave, I am now ready to return part-time to further demonstrate my commitment and love of teaching.
- Deliver lesson plans creatively and effectively to ensure pupils receive high quality teaching in the absence of their usual teacher
- Undergo CPD courses throughout the year to continuously improve my skills as a teacher
- Quickly form positive and professional relationships with support staff and pupils
Modified medium term plans to fit long-term supply roles
- Create and teach short term lesson plans on long-term supply positions, using my knowledge of the children and the school to provide teaching to a high standard
- Adhere to school policies and procedures
- Teach in a wide range of schools
- Become involved in the wider school community on long-term positions. For example, staying behind to discuss progress with a parent, helping with the Christmas Nativity and volunteering for the Christmas fair
- Manage behaviour effectively by utilising my own skills and whole school approaches, to ensure all children can access learning
- Currently tutor an 11 year old home schooled student in Life Skills and
Religious Education.
- Enhancing a child's understanding and personal development.
- Began position as an assistant to carers at age 16, contributing to meal
preparations and fostering positive relationships with residents.
- Transitioned to care assistant at 18, rapidly completing first aid and
medication training to enhance care giving abilities.
- Developed strong emergency response skills, ensuring resident safety during
critical situations, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Expanded role to lead resident activities, driven by a passion for teaching and
engagement.
- Effectively managed time while pursuing studies at college and university
whilst working at The Thorns.
I am able to effectively and quickly adapt to many different environments
I have often been told in previous placements how well I get to understand students' interests or needs in such short spaces of time
I am able to make excellent decisions quickly and think on my feet
I am a strong communicator, enabling me to communicate effectively with my team, children and parents alike
My kind, approachable nature allows me to support pupils learning and emotional needs effectively
I pride myself on my organisational skills, allowing me to balance my work/home life effectively, which also attributes to my calm nature
