Work History

Supervisor

Creams Cafe
Camberley, Surrey
06.2023 - Current

Joined Creams Cafe as a team member and quickly advanced into a supervisory role through initiative, a strong work ethic, and effective communication and teamwork skills. Building a solid rapport with the general manager enabled me to gain insight into the franchise's inner workings and take on significant responsibilities. In my supervisory role, I manage shifts independently, overseeing team operations and ensuring high standards of customer service. My duties include coordinating and assigning tasks to maintain a smooth workflow, handling opening and closing procedures (such as cash banking, till reconciliation, and maintaining excel-based sales records), and ensuring compliance with franchise and legal requirements through regular updates to temperature logs and safety protocols.

I have also managed stock levels by conducting inventory checks, coordinating reorders with suppliers, and keeping inventory optimised. Working closely with other managers and supervisors, I provide feedback on team performance and suggest operational improvements, aiding to foster a positive and productive workplace. I have developed strong problem-solving skills by working under high-pressure, time-sensitive conditions, where i effectively delegate tasks to ensure seamless service and maintain customer satisfaction. I am dedicated to supporting my team's growth through customer satisfaction. I am dedicated to supporting the team's growth through giving and receiving constructive criticisms and coaching. Additionally, I have adapted to various management styles-from laid-back and democratic to autocratic-using these diverse experiences to refine my own leadership skills. This role has greatly enhanced my abilities in communication, organisation and operational management giving me a deep sense of responsibility and purpose. Most importantly it has granted me a valuable insight into financial and business management and fostered my interest in the sector.

Voluntary Work Experience

Miles Better Vehicles Solutions Ltd
Woking , Surrey
07.2024 - 07.2024

During a one-week voluntary work experience term at Miles Better Vehicle Solutions, I worked under the guidance of the head of accounting, who i had previously interned with on multiple occasions to help the business with their workload and solidify my decision to head into the world of finance, sales and management. This experience was invaluable in providing me with a hands-on understanding of finance and accounting within a business setting. I was responsible for filing invoices , managing cash inflows and outflows, and assisting in balancing the business's current account and expenses. Additionally, I developed strong teamwork and communications skills by assisting other accountants and business owners in any downtime with various tasks, such as filing, managing emails, and supporting day-to-day operations.

Throughout my time there, I worked closely with the second in command for the business to gain insight into the financial operations of the business. I learned to use tools like Sage, Excel and other software for managing finances, invoices and costs efficiently. Additionally, i gained experience with budgeting by entering cash flows into spreadsheets to forecast and ensure sufficient capital for upcoming expenses. I also had the opportunity to analyse income statements and balance sheets to understand the business's sales revenue, unit costs, profit margins, taxes, and administrative expenses. Furthermore, I observed how to manage supplier relationships by ensuring timely payables, negotiating trade credit terms, and tracking receivables to maintain positive supplier partnerships.

This experience not only enhanced my technical skills but also deepened my understanding of labour management. I learned about setting team quotas, incentivising with bonuses with the accountants and piece rate pay with the mechanics, and leveraging technology to support business operations, such as using hardware tools to diagnose vehicle faults. This business allowed me to utilise all my educational inspirations with being technologically advanced in every aspect, finance based and making me independently discover first hand all the topics I have learnt about business through college and school, satisfying my current three subjects. Working in this dynamic and innovative environment strengthened my analytical, teamwork and communication skills and reinforced my interest in finance and an overall astonishment by business, providing me with a practical foundation for future career aspirations.
