First Aid Training certified
I have completed a certified First Aid course (05/06/2024), gaining the knowledge and practical skills needed to provide immediate care in medical emergencies until professional help arrives. Trained to respond to a range of situations, including cardiac arrest, anaphylaxis, asthma attacks, seizures, wounds, and more. These skills enhance my ability to act quickly and responsibly in the workplace, contributing to a safer environment for colleagues and customers alike.
Mentor in Violence Prevention - Carnoustie High School certified
Trained as a Mentor in Violence Prevention, learning to identify and address bullying and harassment within the school environment. Developed essential skills for diffusing potentially volatile situations, while reinforcing key transferable skills such as leadership, teamwork, and effective communication. Awarded a certificate in recognition of my active participation and contribution to this important school initiative.
Sutton Trust Summer School - University of St Andrews certified
In 2024, I was selected to attend the Sutton Trust Summer School at the University of St Andrews. During this experience, I met a diverse range of people and developed a wide array of skills and personal qualities. This opportunity strengthened my confidence, adaptability, and communication abilities—qualities that will enable me to contribute effectively to any organisation’s workforce.
Volunteer – Monifieth Befrienders certified
Provided companionship and emotional support to elderly and vulnerable individuals in the community, helping to reduce loneliness and social isolation. Developed strong interpersonal and communication skills by building meaningful relationships through regular visits and conversations. Demonstrated empathy, patience, and reliability, contributing to the well being of those I supported and positively representing the organisation in the local area.
I have many accomplishments and rewards which have been integral in preparing me for the world of work, from past work experiences, volunteering, extracurricular, and work shadowing. One of the most prominent being my successful application to becoming the science prefect within my school which has given me a profound understanding of leadership, and collaborating with the other members of the student leadership team (other department prefects, school captains and house leaders) has allowed me to deepen my communication, co-operation, and teamwork skills.
I aspire to pursue a career in medicine and medical sciences, focusing on patient care and clinical practice. I aim to continuously expand my medical knowledge, contribute to healthcare.
I enjoy hiking, cycling, and reading, particularly science and medical books. Volunteering with Monifieth Befrienders allows me to give back to the community. I’m also passionate about learning new skills and exploring diverse interests.
