Work history

Volunteer

Grosvenor Park Miniature Railway
Chester, Cheshire
02.2023 - Current

Since my first day of volunteering for this popular tourist attraction, I have performed a number of different duties in which some require a lot of responsibility and good judgement. Initially, I was doing duties on the station platform such as overseeing the safe dispatch of trains, keeping the area tidy and ensuring that customers were safe when boarding, alighting or waiting for trains.

I would later learn how to drive trains and this is usually what I would be doing on a typical day of volunteering. Driving the miniature trains around the park requires me to be on the look out at all times for any potential risks, making sure that I'm driving within the designated speed limit, adhering to the stringent rules and regulations in place and most important, remain completely focused throughout each journey. I still perform platform duties to this day when I'm not driving a train as well as performing tasks in our ticket office/shop which involves serving customers with tickets, food, drink and any enquiries that they may have.

Work Experience

Knitwire Products
Runcorn, Halton
06.2023 - 07.2023

Whilst I was doing my work experience at this incredibly successful mesh business, I performed a number of different tasks including the trimming of wire segments for incorporation into the development of products. I also did some duties in the storeroom, documenting the serial numbers of the various tins and cans of wire.

Furthermore, I was presented with a task which required the packaging of pallets that contained used materials that were to be recycled. In addition to this, I revised spreadsheets on a computer to incorporate key metrics relating to materials within the storeroom.
