I am a highly driven and self motivated person. I thrive off impressing, exceeding expectations and making myself indispensable by becoming an expert in my field.
After joining the automotive industry I set myself out a clear career path and focused on the skills and attributes required to get to my current position. Within 5 years I went from apprentice to Service manager, running the department I had started at the bottom of. I am currently considering what is next for me but would like to remain within the automotive sector to utilise my knowledge of the industry.
As Service manager at Brighton BMW MINI and Motorrad I am currently responsible for the overall performance of the aftersales operation and the performance of the 40+ individuals within this team.
I work closely with my team to provide a premium level of customer service to our clients while focusing on meeting the KPIs dictated by both Group 1 and the manufacturer.
After 3 years as a service advisor with BMW and becoming hungry for progression, I took the leap and applied for the position of workshop control / assistant service manager.
As assistant service manager I became responsible for coordinating the day to day running of the department. I was required to organise and control the flow of work through the car workshop as well as monitoring and assisting the customer journey front of house.
I joined Group 1 as a customer service apprentice with BMW. Learning both the Sales and aftersales. I quickly gravitated towards the aftersales side of the business and within a year gained a level 3 NVQ in customer service and became accredited by the BMW academy whilst operating as a full time service advisor.
As a service advisor my main duties were to coordinate the customers journey through our service department, becoming their point of contact and providing a premium level of customer service by focusing on communication.
Throughout my time I gained invaluable lessons in customer relations whilst building on my mechanical and automotive knowledge.
After leaving school, I took a summer job working in the kitchen at my local gastro pub.
I began as a commis chef in training, very quickly working my way through the ranks to Sous chef, responsible for working along-side the head chef by coordinating the running of the kitchen.
Hospitality didn't end up being my career path but it certainly set me up with the ability to time manage effectively and to work extremely well under pressure.
