During my time on supply, I worked in many different year groups. I spent 6 months working in an SNRB unit with a focus on speech and language. I also attended some training courses, one being a Makaton signing workshop.
I also spent a year part-time looking after a 1 year old who belonged to my manager at Screwfix. This was another great life experience that helped develop many useful skills.
My mother also works in a private nursery, so I have been in a couple of times to help out and also to create an art project for their back-to-nursery signboard.
I worked as part of a team to help serve customers and meet the company's high standards for the Warehouse. The job involved continuously working with both staff and customers to provide the best service. My manager also gave me the task of handing money, which was not given to other employees.
Best Uniform award – Achieved this award from the police cadets. This required pride in my appearance. I also obtained leadership skills and discipline through the cadets.
When I was in year 12/13 I was selected to mentor a year 7 child in order to help improve their reading skills and aid them into becoming more confident when speaking aloud.
I volunteered for 2 years to a police cadet program where I worked alongside policemen in order to help the local people at events or help other policemen in the station doing various tasks. I also worked with my fellow cadets on many of the tasks and this experience really allowed me to build my teamwork skills.
