
I have built strong custodial experience within His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, beginning my career as an Operational Support Grade (OSG) where I developed core skills in security, prisoner movement, incident support, and maintaining the safe running of the establishment. I progressed to the role of Prison Officer after completing my POELT, taking on full frontline responsibilities including prisoner supervision, safety and order, dynamic risk assessment, and contributing to rehabilitation and daily regime delivery.
Maintained secure access control — operated gates, doors, and entry systems, ensuring only authorised staff, visitors, and contractors entered restricted areas.
- Conducted security searches — carried out routine and targeted searches of visitors, staff belongings, vehicles, and areas within the establishment to prevent unauthorised items and contraband entering the prison.
- Supported incident response — assisted officers during alarms, emergencies, and control situations by securing areas, and relaying information.
- Monitored CCTV and security systems — observed live feeds, reported suspicious activity, and contributed to maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Managed prisoner movements — supervised internal movements such as free flows and visits.
- Provided operational and administrative support — completed essential tasks including logging intelligence reports, call monitoring, processing paperwork, and supporting daily regime delivery.
