Aaron Singh

Started role as Temporary Customer Advisor in 2015. In Spring 2018 I was promoted to Warehouse Team Leader. In 2021 I was promoted to Trading Manager.

My Team leader tasks were:

• Be hands on and help team process all stock and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting two man items.
• Price all incoming stock and create price labels via Microsoft Excel.
• Organise and schedule all stock flow in and out of store.
• Trained all staff on stock procedures and correct use of all equipment.
• Conducted, along with Store Manager, Health and Safety meetings every 6 months to complete risk assessments.
• Safely loaded and unloaded articulated lorries with counter balance forklift.
• Complete Forklift assessments on all drivers every 6 months.
• Oversee all warehouse admin tasks which would pass all Compliance audits in three years.

My Trading Manager tasks are:

• Taking responsibility of whole store in Store Managers absence.
• Make sure all Health and Safety guidelines and procedures are being followed.
• Price review all stock on departments which successfully hits store recovery targets.
• Ensure Cash office procedures are being followed and perform weekly audits on all cash.
• Attend to customer needs and to make sure all complaints are being resolved to their satisfactory level.
• Manage sickness and disciplinary investigations in line with company policies.
• Performance review staff every 6 - 12 months.
• Create friendly and supportive environments for all colleagues which has resulted myself scoring highest of all managers two years running in recent colleague surveys.

In 2015 & 16 I was given work related experiences to develop interpersonal skills and get general knowledge of busy, hands on construction environments. My tasks were:

• To communicate effectively and listen to instructions.
• Establish safe and clean work zones for myself and team.
• Establish safe zones for public e.g. temporary pedestrian footpaths.
• Safely handling and transporting materials using correct equipment.
• Constructed three brick walls to regulation standards.
• Block paved 30 metres of pavement at All Saints Parish church from entrance to public pathway.
• Learned to safely use power tools like petrol disc cutters to cut bricks to exact measurements.
