To ensure high-quality patient care by overseeing governance, quality, safety, and patient experience, involving leading incident reviews, managing complaints, implementing improvements, ensuring regulatory compliance (CQC), analysing data for service enhancement, and leading teams to embed best practices and learning from events across the organisation.

Core Responsibilities

• Governance & Compliance: Ensuring adherence to CQC standards, national safety strategies, and local policies, often deputising for senior directors.
• Patient Safety: Leading incident management, PSIRF, risk assessment, and implementing strategies to prevent harm.
• Quality Improvement (QI): Identifying trends in patient feedback/incidents, developing improvement plans, and leading QI projects with clinical/operational teams.
• Patient Experience: Managing complaints, promoting local resolution, gathering feedback, and implementing policy changes based on patient/carer input.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyzing data to support improvements, preparing performance reports, and ensuring learning from incidents is shared.
• Training & Development: Equipping staff with skills to recognise, report, and review events, championing learning, and leading training initiatives.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Working across teams (clinical, operational, corporate) to influence change, manage projects, and support staff in difficult situations. Visible and compassionate engagement with coaching style conversations.
