Zezheng Liu

I'm currently a second-year undergraduate studying Neuroscience at UCL carrying with maniac passion for neuroscience, especially within the field of the neural substrate of addiction and decision-making. I always seek ways to progress with people sharing the same passion and interests, and good at discussing ideas with people from different fields. In addition, I've been in the position of several group leaders in my college and high school career, including both business challenges, biological competition (eg.IGEM), and student representative. and made corresponding achievements.

• The Program-lead (Head Academic assistant & leader) of the Cognitive Neuroscience Program for X-academy 2025. Lead the organization of course content and invitation of Researchers or Professor from the Chinese Brain & neuroscience Research Institute. Designer of Lab projects and Academic-leader-taught appendage courses.
• The 2024-2025 student representative for the UCL Neuroscience program, initiating the internship fair project (ongoing)
• Research with Robert Clark in UCSD on neural substrate of consciousness. Writing: Cognition is the representative of consciousness that responsible to interact with our unconscious mind to form our cognitive behavior
• Founder of Cognitive Neuroscience Journal Club community
• The Academic assistant and leader for the Cognitive neuroscience program in X-academy 2024. Helped organize the course content, inviting professors from Brain Institute in China to tutor the program, and taught the lab project & appendage course for the program.
• Designed and assist-organized the pre-exam workshop at the University to help students tackle the exam (2023-2024).

• Global gold in British Biology Olympiads (BBO) 2022
• National gold in USA Biology Olympiads 2022
• National 1st prize in Brainbee Neuroscience Competition 2022 (15th in the nation)
• The 2021 X-academy explorer in ''Cognitive Neuroscience' and graduate with the honor of 1 of 2 best explorers in the course.
• Regional 1st prize in Brainbee Neuroscience Competition 2022 (Tianjin)
• Group leader in IGEM 2021 for the wet team, co-designer of an experimental procedure to examine the inhibitory effect of X antibody. Achieve global Bronze in 2021
• The founder of the TNA Neuroscience Club, invited researchers and PhD students to give talks to the club members. Lead the Cyber-cockroach project in the club.
• Vice president for the student union, leading the development of the cultural wall of the school.
