Skillset

Exceptional organisational skills are needed to successfully meet the demanding nature of my current roles, which I have gained through experience. Being in charge of filing records of children’s work and referring to them have shown its benefits in terms of organisation. Organising and booking a business trip to London has enabled me to further improve my skills. I have been responsible for planning themes and activities on a termly and weekly basis. I enjoyed booking days and times for parents to arrive with their children for the first time. Another responsibility I was given was to alter and book days for children who already attended the playgroup, where necessary., Dealing with parents on a day to day basis has increased my ability to communicate effectively in an utmost friendly manner. I have enjoyed meeting new members of staff throughout my career alongside working with one fixed member of staff on a day to day basis. Compiling reports for parents and staff has given me invaluable writing skills. Working with children and in partnership with employers has given me an excellent understanding of the need for effective communication at all levels. At college, I was taught to treat each child as a unique individual and I am able to do this without hesitation. I have been involved in using bilingual skills to assist Gujarati and Urdu speaking parents and children successfully. I am aware of the need to respond to a child’s physical and emotional needs and I can attend to them in the best way possible., As a professional Nursery Nurse, I understand the need for confidentiality. Building a trusting relationship with teachers, parents, children, and employers means that I am adept at listening to individual’s problems and aspirations. Working as an integral member of a working team has given me practical experience of maintaining good working relationships. I have been involved in staff meetings to discuss any problems encountered at work, if any. I have had the pleasure of booking times for parent’s evenings. I have enjoyed implementing activities and also giving the opportunity to other members of staff to do so on allocated days., As a leader at a playgroup setting, I led my team with limited resources to ensure the best possible service to our customers e.g. parents and children. At U.W.T. as well as Al-Zahra I greeted each individual with a warm welcome and ensured that they were satisfied with our services before they departed the premises. At Nursery, I always ensured that the parents were happy with the education that I provided for their children. This means that I am committed to delivering my exceptional customer care skills in every way possible. Having full responsibility of accounts has increased my managerial skills successfully. Being in charge of snack time meant that I was able to ensure that children ate healthy foods, such as, fruit, toast, breadsticks, and crackers, as well as a healthy drink, such as water. It was also my duty to buy resources and toys for the Nursery. This meant that I took sole responsibility that these toys met British safety standards. I also made sure that the children would comply with health and safety rules when I took them to the toilet as well as washing hands before and after snack time., As part of my role at Al-Zahra Nursery, I had been responsible for using my computer to attract customers. At U.W.T. it was also part of my role to use technology as a way to attract custom. This has also been done to the best of my ability. I have been involved in writing letters to college tutors to confirm work placements for students. The majority of my work that I have completed throughout my career has been done using computers which I have done without any trouble. I have been using computers since college where the majority of work has been produced by researching, organizing, typing, printing, and producing. I produced my activity and evaluation sheets for Nursery using the computer and keyboard that I have access to. An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, and email has been developed through extensive use at college, employment, and personal use.
