  • During my working holiday visa in Australia, I obtained employment at The Fullerton Hotel in the central business district of Sydney.
  • During my 6-month period, I was in charge of looking after esteemed guests on the 28th floor; the VIP lounge.
  • My primary role included serving breakfast, afternoon tea and canapés alongside alcoholic beverages. In addition to this, myself and the team would prepare the boardroom for business meetings, which included an array of CEO's and politicians, such as Boris Johnson.
  • This position deepened my interpersonal skills where I was able to cultivate strong relationships with guests that fostered loyalty and repeat visits back to the hotel. This demonstrates the importance of leaving a lasting impression on people, which highlights similarities to the business sector.

Remote Internship

  • 8-week remote summer internship funded through Pagoda Projects, where I worked alongside the founder of Elephant Communications.
  • Throughout the internship, I took on various roles, such as re-designing the company's website and developing social media platforms. By doing so, this helped increase the business outreach. For example, I set up the CEO as a guest on the 'Two Chaps-Many Cultures' podcast, which discussed the importance of the East-West connection in today's world with new means of communication.
  • This internship taught me a plethora of skills, where I learnt the value of intercultural communication and the importance of global awareness in business.
