My role as LEV support engineer consists of.

  • Carry out face velocity and duct velocity airflow measurements in accordance with LEV testing principles.
  • Conduct radiological tent and Moducon airflow readings, ensuring results are accurately recorded and certification is completed and issued.
  • Attend site to assess project requirements, visualise work scopes, and determine the safest and most effective routes for the ducting to enter into tanks or confined compartments.
  • Understand, document, and write up low pressure air and breathing air rig setups to support project requirements safely and compliantly.
  • Plan, coordinate, and allocate work tasks to LEV operatives, ensuring correct equipment, procedures, and controls are in place.
  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of COSHH regulations and HSG258, applying guidance to all LEV‑related tasks.
  • Audit and inspect ducting systems, airlines, air manifolds/bottles and associated equipment to ensure integrity, certification, and compliance on board.
  • Understand and apply correct rigging procedures for all types of ventilation including :

Hot work ventilation
Gas‑free ventilation
Dust extraction
Paint and fume extraction
General blowing and dilution ventilation.

  • Ensure all ventilation systems are suitable , compliant and fit for purpose for the tasks being undertaken.
  • Liaise and build strong working relationships with all project stakeholders to support effective delivery of LEV requirements.
  • Process and manage project paperwork, ensuring tasks are progressed through each stage using the company app/system.

CNC machine engineer
