This position has given me a chance to assist other departments to widen my experience.I am confident with engine room detailing and carrying out pre departure checks on engines and generators. The captain has trusted me out of a crew of 4 to be the helmsman during passages. I am confident with handling lines, fenders and participating in docking procedures as well as calling distances and maintaining the exterior to the highest standard (teak scrubbing, polishing, wash downs and tying appropriate knots). We also spent 6 weeks in the shipyard for a 5 year survey which gave me an opportunity to assist contractors.

As a sole deckhand I have gained preseason experience to get the vessel ready doing general maintenance, including any repairs needed, painting, varnishing and have the full responsibility to ensure the exterior is presented to the highest standard by carrying out daily wash downs. My other duties include helping the captain navigate safely and am very confident in mooring operations and line handling. I also assist interior with drinks making so very comfortable interacting with guests to ensure they are given a smooth service for an unforgettable experience.

Working on behalf of an Events Company, with the responsibility of running a team of 7 whilst ensuring all operations of the yacht ran smoothly. Duties included stock checking, bar tending, service of drinks, people management and guest interaction, including VIP clientele such as Ex F1 Drivers as well as the Prince Of Monaco. Any spare time I had would be to assist with the exterior crew to carry out general deck tasks.

During my time on Tatiana I carried out general deckhand duties including, wash downs, stainless steel polishing and scrubbing teak. I had to be organised and work under pressure as we had back to back charters to turn the yacht around sometimes within 24 hours. I also assisted with all docking tasks as well as launching water toys including setting up and putting away the slide for guests. I also acted as head bar tender serving over 120 guests at times whilst maintaining a professional and friendly manor.

Running events to teaching groups a masterclass to make various types of cocktails. I would also interact with the groups to ensure all parties are enjoying themselves whilst being provided the highest standard of cocktails and service. This would involve constantly checking in with guests, having a friendly approach with confidence so that they are comfortable and happy at all times.

Teaching groups of up to 25/30 to make various types of cocktails I also took on the responsibility to coach new starters to build confidence and teach cocktails. Setting up and also clearing down the bar to ensure it was ready for the next day was vital including having the trust to cash up, open and close the venue too.
