Summary

As a welfare manager, my role is to ensure that students receive the best possible support and care while at school. While I don't have direct responsibility for managing the academic progress of students, I would work closely with other professionals, such as teachers or the head of year, to ensure that any issues or concerns related to a student's welfare are addressed effectively.

This could involve coordinating with the centre manger ensure that students are supported in their academic progress, and that any issues related to attendance, behaviour, or other welfare concerns are addressed in a timely and effective manner. Ultimately, the goal is to ensure that students receive comprehensive and effective support that addresses all of their needs, including those related to their academic progress and overall welfare.

I have worked at st johns’ primary school where I have the duties of LSA and teaching assistance. My duties require me to be aware of the national curriculum and the confidence to establish new modified teaching methods that better scaffolding for that individual. Furthermore, I also wroked closely with the teacher, assisting the classroom. I have different SEN HUBS that require both English and maths assistance with different resources for example number formation and worked examples to initiate prompts and modelling. Linking to Vygotsky’s scaffolding theory. It is important to implement lateral, divergent and convergent thought to establish better teaching methods. We also have instructional scaffolding which helps my students with achieving learning gaols and this is effective because each student requires different learning prompts

I have worked at city academy as School Receptionist and Office Administrator. My key responsibilities are signing in visitators and staff. Printing off work for cover teachers, taking incoming calls and making outgoing calls regarding poor behaviour, positive leaning or general enquires. I provide a flexible, productive, and responsive administrative service to the teaching team and management team thereby contributing towards a smooth day.

I have good grammatical skills as I need to send emails to member of staff regarding their students. I also have a key duty to maintain positive behaviour and if there is poor behaviour shown I need to use the correct code of conduct and establish punishment for students to learn and understand discipline. I work closely with children aged 11-16. This is challenging both mentally and physically however, also rewarding in many areas of life.

I have established patience, resilience and discipline which is are vital qualities to have in all aspects of life. Furthermore, I have good confidence skills which are important as I am conversing with individuals every day. To work with admin, you need to be able to have elite ICT skills and my job demands these skills day in day out. For example, Advanced MS Office skills, outlook skills and using class charts, sims id and apps to note down absent calls and incoming and outgoing calls. i want to share my love for English with students so their express their creativity and develop a passion for reading and creative writing. In my experience as a teaching assistant , my persistence has permitted me to comprehend patience when dealing with challenging behaviour that occurs in the classroom.

This forces me to evaluate my teaching style and reflect on new strategies allowing both student and teacher to grow and learn different things. This allows me to grasp that teachers need to improve their teaching style and pedagogy. Whilst continuing my journey teaching diverse students with different learning abilities its vital to work on differentiation and lesson planning. . Furthermore, I provide a professional online environment for students so this allows them to remain disciplined in their learning method and behaviour. I teach Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet' and succeeded in capturing the attention and focus of students in the classroom, who were not fond of Shakespeare's work.

This experience allowed me to observe how an infectious passion and catered style of teaching for specific groups can aid their learning and using different scaffolding resources can make a word of difference. I have taught ‘Frankenstein' and explored different themes and genres within this gothic novella we looked at persecution, distorted human beings and the significance of each character and why Shelly created such a controversy.

Interests

I find it really fulfilling to help others learn and grow. I think it's important to have a good understanding of the world around us, and I believe that education is the key to achieving that understanding. Whether it's teaching a new skill or helping someone understand a difficult concept, I always feel a sense of satisfaction when I'm able to help someone learn something new.
When it comes to teaching, I enjoy finding creative ways to explain concepts and help others understand them. I think it's important to tailor my approach to the individual learner, as everyone has different learning styles and needs. I also believe in the importance of lifelong learning, and I try to make a habit of learning something new every day. Whether it's reading a book, watching a documentary, or taking an online course, I find that there's always something new to discover and explore.
