Work history

Technical Lead Associate

BMW Group
Swindon, Wiltshire
2023.03 - Current

Worked as a TLA within PGA as well as Sub-Assembly to develop my communication & leadership skills. Stood in for TPL's to cover holiday and sicknesses on a few occasions across both buildings.

PGA:

  • Developed my skills as a leader to bring all associates on my shift to the same level, and further improve each of them to better work as a team.
  • Improved my quality knowledge to a point where quality based decisions came easily, and often coincided with the quality teams.
  • Acted on quality topics, tooling issues, and press faults to best ensure the control of stock and press downtime.
  • Used my PSP background to improve EOL processes to best improve quality control, with amendments to the Wheelarch process still in use today.
  • Supported with the development of the Rework area and Rework team to improve the visibility and digitalisation of the area.
  • Worked to improve the QA station as part of a digitalisation project, adding screens to their area to allow them to work autonomously from each other as well as the Press Techs.

Subs:

  • Learnt about the operation of the Sub-Assembly area and how the TLA role differs within the building
  • Covered both areas of the building as a TLA to further build my knowledge
  • Developed a new SOS sheet to improve knowledge sharing and Comms 3 duration.
