I am currently working as a HLTA and would like to be considered for the exciting opportunity of becoming an unqualified teacher. Although I am not a qualified teacher I have been trusted by my present school to take on a teaching role in order to support the school during a staff transition period. For a full term I job shared the role of the teacher in a Reception Classroom. I was responsible for all the usual teaching responsibilities and the children flourished and progressed during this time. I undertook planning, teaching, assessment and safeguarding responsibilities. During this time, I proved myself to be a capable and committed teaching practitioner.
Throughout my time at Crowcroft Park Primary School, I have established supportive relationships both with parents and staff, who have come to me if they had needed help or guidance. For example, I have supported TA’s, Teaching Students, L.O.s NQTs and ECTs in their first year of teaching at Crowcroft Park. This shows that I am trusted to fulfil this role and have successfully maintained these relationships throughout my time at Crowcroft. I am presently working in close liaison with a family that I am supporting through a difficult time and therefore have needed to establish a supportive and caring relationship whilst also maintaining a professional approach. I have worked in every year group covering PPA and have always found that I am able to form good relationships with children of all ages.
During my time in this role I have discovered I am able to use my time efficiently, I am flexible and extremely hard working. I have a positive attitude and have good and efficient communication skills. My commitment and proactive attitude is often remarked upon by staff members and I am known for being a hardworking and valued member of the team.
At the heart of everything I do, is the welfare and education of the children at Crowcroft Park. I have taken part in rigorous Safe -Guarding training and I understand the importance of this aspect of my work. I also maintain a professional attitude and am always willing to be flexible and accept changes, and any new challenges that are in the best interest of the child.
I attend staff meetings and staff training, where I take on board and implement new training and teaching strategy’s. I am always improving my skills and knowledge and an example of this was the ELKLAN training. My commitment to this training resulted in a distinction which was a great and useful achievement. After any lesson observation, I take on board and act on all feedback in an effort to continually improve my practise and to ensure constant personal development.
When I cover classes, I follow the school’s behaviour policy and rarely find that I have any behaviour issue to deal with. When I do, I am always calm and use reflective language to support learners to consider and change their behaviour.
My lessons are always well organised, planned and resourced and I have always received good feedback from any observations including; Reading, Writing, Maths PSHE and Music lessons. I use the school schemes as well as planning to guide my lessons and reflect on how well they went before planning the next one. I always try to make my lessons engaging and at an appropriate level. If I find that the children are struggling, then I am able to break down the learning into smaller steps.
Please consider me for this role. I look forward to hearing from you.
