  • Private facility that caters to the needs of patients from vaious ecomnical background. Housed at least 30 patients. Patients are treated promptly and in a timely manner. One nurse supervises the others on the day shift. One nurse works at nights.
  • Role and responsibilities:
  • Vital signs monitoring.
  • Follow-up blood pressure checks.
  • Wound care.
  • Eye irrigation from chemical spills.
  • Administration of medication.
  • Inform doctor of outstanding results.

  • This role entails looking after patients diagnosed with cancers both solid tumors and haematology. The treatment area is a day unit where patients are treated and sent home after. Day to day workload consist of venesection, venepuncture, picc line care, Hickman line care, porto-cath care, administration of chemotherapy drugs, via infusion, SC, and IM routes. The job role also allow me to deal with patients who have been sent home and are struggling with post chemotherapy drugs side effects who need my help and advise on what to do and proper taking of their oral medications. I also conduct pre-information sessions with patients via telephone or face to face for the up-coming chemotherapy treatments. My job role also includes liason with the patients ooncologist in regards to their treatments and care.
