Laundry Assistant/Porter

  • My duties include counting the linen and dispersing the linen to the linen cupboards.
  • I am responsible for the linen cupboard’s being ready for the housekeepers and making sure they have enough linen.
  • I am also a porter, my role as a porter is to make sure that if the housekeepers require any shower curtains or glasses etc. I would bring up what they need, and I would make sure they had this to save them time with their rooms and so that they could get on with their work.
  • I am responsible for making sure that the linen rooms are tidy and clean and also making sure that they are always filled up.
  • My duties also include clearing all the dirty linen away after the housekeepers have finished with the rooms so that their trolleys do not overflow with linen.
  • I am responsible for doing a linen count of the stock to make sure there is enough and so that those can be logged, and the manager can keep track of how much linen we have and need.

  • I work on the night shift, dealing with check ins and any issues customers have also serve food and alcohol to our guests.
  • I am responsible for the end of day banking, making sure everything balances out and printing off of all necessary documents and paper work required to show that the banking has been done.
  • I run the night audit so that the new day can be a fresh start on the banking side for all the staff working that day.
  • I am responsible for doing night walks to make sure the hotel is secure and safe also free from noise.
  • During my shift I will help any guests that require assistance also server food and drink to the guests and make sure they are enjoying their stay with us.
  • In the morning I set up the continental breakfast and make sure all tables and the area is clean and tidy ready for the morning staff.
  • I do the hand over with the next staff for the morning then my shift is complete.

  • I worked on the nightshift, my responsibility was welcoming our guests and getting them checked in and check outs early in the morning.

  • I was responsible for preparing the managers briefing for the next day and this involved me taking all information for our vip guests so that the platters could be prepared for them arriving and highlighting any special events that were on.

  • Really enjoyed working here since I had a lot of responsibility and enjoyed seeing our customers enjoying there stay and making use of all the amazing facilities we had to offer.
