This position was under the toxicology and injection department of the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

● Supported long-term rat studies, including dosing, sample preparation, tissue sampling, and documentation under strict regulatory oversight.

● Followed ethical protocols for animal handling and minimised animal use per 3Rs principles. Processed biological samples (tissues, blood, urine) for toxicological evaluations in a GLP-certified research setting.
● Monitored and replenished laboratory supplies, managed stock level and expiry tracking to meet operational needs.
● Accurately documented experimental data, maintained equipment, and contributed to high standards of laboratory compliance and sample integrity.
● Assisted in experiment design, risk assessment, and process optimisation alongside senior technicians.

During this period, I also:
Co-managed a Long-Term Toxicology Experiment, collaborating with a colleague to carefully design and execute a 6-month toxicology study using a rat model to assess treatment effects across varying dosages, while minimising the number of animals used following ethical research principles.

• Maintained and passaged human adherent cell lines (HK2, HEK293, Nthy-ori 3-1) under aseptic BSL-2 conditions.
• Designed and executed compound treatment protocols to simulate iodine fluctuation and assess thyroid hormone regulation pathway.
• Conducted molecular assays including qPCR, Western blot, ELISA, and ROS testing to evaluate biomarker expression.
• Prepared cell lysates and managed sample storage, documentation, and integrity in alignment with SOP protocols.
• Collaborated across project teams and contributed to data presentations, reporting, and lab organisation.
