Wurood Alwan

As a dedicated PhD student in Environmental Science specializing in petrophysics at the School of Earth and Environment, University of Leeds, my research focuses on train a three-dimensional Convolutional Neural Network to predict the characteristics of porous media, encompassing pore shape, size, and interconnectivity. Additionally, I aim to utilize this network to recognize various mineral phases in carbonate rocks using three-dimensional micro-CT scanning.

Presented a research poster at the 2024 EGU Conference.

-Secured and awarded the Ministry of Water Resources Research Grant for outstanding performance during the master's program.
