My goal as customer services supervisor was to support the new departmental restructure taking place at the time of my move. I was asked to pull from my experience and knowledge within the business to support the nights team to enhance team efficiency and knowledge.
Due to the restructure I was requested to cross train each member of staff interdepartmentally. The objective set by my managers was to get the team to a place where they could progress and be in a strong enough position for them to be considered for internal promotion. During this time I noticed the team had very little morale and felt they had not been invested in. Working with each team member independently to reach their goals i trained 12 team members within 3 months. By the end of my secondment we had internally promoted 3 members of this team and the remaining team members all had progression plans to reach their own professional objectives.
