Work History

Bridgemere Garden Centre
  • My responsibilities included refreshing stock, plat checking, display building, organisation of stock, checking stock quantity, customer interactions, watering and checking plants and helping out my team members as and when they needed it.

  • During my time at JCS cleaning I was responsible for being on time to different cities, to be quick and effective during cleaning to a bespoke level, talking to and managing a small team of cleaners to maximize the effectiveness of our cleaning, to be responsible for equipment which I was given, and keeping it in an impeccable state.
  • JCS cleaning has helped me develop and improve on a lot of key skills for the working world such as leadership, storage, time management, effective cleaning practises, organisation, equipment maintenance on some small appliances like hoovers and power washers and the importance of a great first impression.
  • I was a representative of the company at all times, I helped manage Client relationships, worked on site with a positive, can – do attitude and was a highly valued member of the team. I helped facilitate good working relationships between staff and often went above and beyond for the best outcome for both business and staff.

Animal Lifeline Kennels
  • During my time at animal lifeline i was in charge of preparing feed, cleaning out kennels, paying attention to which dogs come in and out at every time, noticing any clear behaviour changes in the dogs, to change and refill water, to build a separation wall between to dog’s kennels and walking the dogs and picking up and disposing of the waste.
  • Animal lifeline kennels have helped me improve my skills in mass cleaning of kennels in a quick and timely manner, simple behaviour recognition, time management, team work, the importance of checking if you have closed a door after entering a room/kennel and to avoid a dog when it is showing abnormal aggressive behaviour.
  • It helped teach me intricate feeding schedules, The importance of confidence and behaviour recognition. It helped me feel better prepared to be there for animals when we were most needed.

Talent to Teach Program
  • The talent to teach program was probably one of the best experiences I have taken part in and is one of the main reasons for me wanting to pursue a carrier in teaching during the placement I was responsible for the monitoring and overview of the class and teaching which the teacher provided and to learn from the various different teaching styles and to help adapt and create my own form of teaching.
  • The skills I have obtained are lesson planning, digital learning lesson planning, skills in engaging a classroom and a deeper understanding of how important tasks in lessons truly are.

Conservation Field Course
  • During my time on the field course, I developed a plethora of skills around the subject of conservation from being able to plan and run small surveys to being able to sex and identify some small woodland mammals I believe these skills will help me if I ever want to move forward towards a job in animal surveying.
  • The skills I learned and developed through this experience include and are not limited to camera trap, set up and management, planning activities, carrying out research, creating a research project and teamwork and leadership skills. Creating and filling in the required data collection tables.
